Terms of Use

Effective date: 2026-09-10 · Last updated: 2026-10-13

Scope. These terms govern only Arkidor for Confluence, the Atlassian Forge app distributed via the Atlassian Marketplace. They do not govern the standalone Arkidor web application at arkidor.io. The two products are legally distinct.

1. Parties and the app

These terms are a binding agreement between you (and, where you act for an organisation, that organisation — the "Customer") and Knaap (owned by Arthur van der Knaap), Itäinentie 50, 06100 Porvoo, Finland (Business ID 2183315-9; VAT FI-21833159), regarding the Arkidor for Confluence app (the "App"). The App lets you author and embed ArchiMate architecture diagrams inside Confluence Cloud.

2. Relationship to the Atlassian Marketplace Standard Agreement and Atlassian's terms

Provider-Specific Terms. The App is listed on the Atlassian Marketplace under the Marketplace's standard end user agreement, the Bonterms Standard End User Agreement (Version 1.0) (the "Standard Agreement"). These terms are Knaap's Provider-Specific Terms within the meaning of the Standard Agreement: they supplement and modify the Standard Agreement, and together with it form the agreement between the Customer and Knaap for the App (the "Agreement"). The following documents are attachments to these terms and form part of the Provider-Specific Terms:

Order of precedence. If the documents making up the Agreement conflict, the following order applies, consistent with Standard Agreement §1.4:

  1. any written amendment signed by both the Customer and Knaap;
  2. the Provider-Specific Terms, in which the Data Processing Agreement prevails over these terms on data-protection matters; and
  3. the Standard Agreement.

In particular, these terms replace the corresponding provisions of the Standard Agreement on governing law and courts (Standard Agreement §19.2; see section 13), warranties (Standard Agreement §6; see section 8), limitation of liability (Standard Agreement §14; see section 9) and Usage Data (Standard Agreement §3.4; see section 5). Where these terms say nothing on a matter, the Standard Agreement applies.

Atlassian's own terms. Atlassian is not a party to the Agreement. Your purchase through the Marketplace, and your use of Confluence Cloud and the Forge platform, are also subject to Atlassian's applicable terms, including the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use and the Atlassian Customer Agreement.

3. Licence

Subject to these terms and payment of any applicable fees, Knaap grants the Customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App within the Customer's Confluence Cloud tenant for its internal business purposes, for the duration of a valid installation/subscription.

4. Free and paid tiers

The App may be offered with a free tier and one or more paid tiers. Tier availability, feature limits, and pricing are as stated on the Atlassian Marketplace listing and are administered through Atlassian. Knaap may change tier definitions prospectively; existing paid subscriptions are governed by the Marketplace terms for the current billing period.

Platform limits. The App runs on Atlassian's Forge platform and is therefore subject to Atlassian's platform quotas, storage and attachment limits, and rate limits, as set and changed by Atlassian from time to time and outside Knaap's control. These platform limits may affect the App's availability or performance, and may constrain the size or number of models you can store. They apply in addition to any tier limits stated on the Marketplace listing, and are subject to the "AS IS" / "AS AVAILABLE" disclaimer in section 8 and the limitation of liability in section 9.

5. Your data and content

6. Acceptable use

You must not: (a) use the App unlawfully or to infringe third-party rights; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law; (c) resell or sublicense the App; or (d) circumvent tier limits or Atlassian billing.

7. Third-party software and attribution

The App incorporates third-party open-source components. Their licences and required notices are provided in the App's third-party licence notice (generated from the Confluence/Forge build and reachable from the App's About/help surface). ArchiMate® is a registered trademark of The Open Group; the App is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Open Group.

8. No warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KNAAP'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES PAID BY THE CUSTOMER FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) EUR 100 (THE LATTER APPLYING, IN PARTICULAR, TO FREE-TIER USE WHERE NO FEES WERE PAID). NEITHER PARTY IS LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct. Consumer mandatory rights, where applicable, are unaffected.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Knaap harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or your unlawful or unauthorised use of the App.

11. Term and termination

These terms apply while the App is installed and/or a subscription is active. You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time via Atlassian. Knaap may suspend or terminate the licence for material breach. Uninstalling the App does not delete your model attachments — they are yours and remain in your tenant.

12. Changes to these terms

Knaap may update these terms prospectively; the effective date above will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be communicated via the Marketplace listing or in-app where practicable.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Finland have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that grant a consumer the right to bring proceedings in their place of residence.
